Gerrard made his league debut for Liverpool in the 1998-1999 season, it came in a match against Blackburn on 30th November 1998. His achievements are incredible, including being awarded with the PFA young player of the year in 2001. He has won the Champions league, UEFA Cup, FA Cup and league cup with Liverpool. Despite being approached by the English champions Chelsea in the summer of 2004 he decided to stay at Liverpool and he has certainly not disappointed. Gerrard's natural home is in midfield. It is in this position where his strengths of aggression, stamina and brilliant range of passing come into their own. He made his international
début for England seniors in a match against Ukraine in May 2001. He played in the 2004 European Championships and the 2006 world cup finals for his national team.
